Neutrophil Club

Interest in neutrophil biology has grown rapidly in recent years due to the discovery of new physiological roles for neutrophils and their involvement in various diseases. Indeed, neutrophils have been implicated in autoimmunity, allergy, cancer pathophysiology and metabolic diseases. Their contribution to pathological processes vastly exceeds the “restricted” understanding of neutrophil function in infectious diseases and inflammation that still lingers in the literature.

While our understanding of neutrophil biology is far from complete, it now appears as though neutrophils act as innate immune cells with a much broader immunomodulatory potential. Therefore it is critical to reevaluate their function, kinetics, fate and even their potential for modulation in many pathological conditions.

Foster collaboration, exchanges and sharing of resources and protocols to further the study of neutrophil biology.

Main activity
Organize a one day symposium each year to highlight outstanding research in neutrophil biology, including invited French and International speakers (symposium to be held in English).

- Creation of the Neutrophil CLUB
- Session at the SFI annual meeting (Lille, Nov 4-6, 2014:
